Invitation to Open IET Student Chapter in Your Institution
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, world’s one of the oldest and largest Technical Society, is a non-profit making professional body. The IET was formed by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) and now has more than 150,000 members worldwide. It is the largest professional engineering society in Europe and the second largest of its type in the world. The IET is a leading authority, through its members, in the area of Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science ,Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. The vision of the IET is worldwide prosperity of mankind through technical innovation and exchange of knowledge, which needs to be translated into practices through innovative and emerging ideas involving technologists, academicians, consultants, managers etc.
The IET-UK Chennai Network was formed in early 1940’s from the erstwhile Indian Branch of the IET. The Chennai Network is the largest branch of The IET-UK in India and is distinguished by its extensive technical programs. In realizing the vision of the society, the IET-UK Chennai Network organizes technical workshops, seminars, conferences etc. from time to time to share the experience and expertise of professionals around the globe in the development of energy sector and country as a whole. The Younger Member Section of Chennai Network (YMSC) was formed in 2006 with more than 500 student members and 10 student chapters. It regularly organizes workshop, conference, awareness camp, awards, medals, technical events, technical news letter etc for its student members.
We invite your institution to join with us for active participation in events.
